Yes, it will make your abs stronger but it won’t burn any of the fatty tissue that has built up around your belly. Spot reduction does not help in losing any fat in specific areas of your body, so stop wasting your time.

Stick to a Healthy Diet

Around 70% of how your body looks comes from what you eat. So stop spending hours on end at the gym. Instead, grab a shopping cart and fill it with foods rich in nutrients. To eat in a healthy way, you need to incorporate a balanced diet. Proteins, carbs and fats make up the macronutrients your body needs to be able to function daily. If you skip any of these categories, your body will not be able to fuel itself properly.

Stay Away From Alcohol

If you’re dreaming about losing belly fat, forget about alcohol. It’s very hard to get rid of all the empty carbs that enter your body when consuming alcoholic beverages. An occasional beer or glass of wine won’t hurt, but for the most part, stick to drinking water, squeezed lemon or tea without sugar.

Don’t Starve Yourself

It would seem logical that if you don’t eat enough, your body will lose weight. Wrong! By eating less than the recommended daily calorie intake, you actually starve your body, which in return will hold on to anything you consume, literally.

So try to eat several times a day and never go below your recommended daily calorie intake. If you go to the gym as well, be sure to make up for the calories you burnt off by eating a little bit more that day.
